Job Introduction:

AMAG’s Professional Services Engineers provide unique services involving AMAG software and hardware. They provide and develop technical solutions and processes to achieve overall objectives by means of implementing systems or enterprise wide solutions, using AMAG Technology hardware/software products.

Professional Services Engineers develop Scopes of work, processes and procedures to satisfy our customer’s system goals, objectives, needs, and infrastructure. Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, testing, client training, and solution deployment including assistance with complicated deployments, upgrade assistance, configuration and system validation, system audits and assistance with the implementation of Fault Tolerant/Redundant solutions. Tasks may also include installation of custom scripting including interfaces between AMAG products and third party systems, added functionality and features, custom reports and interfaces. Excellent customer service skills are required at all times. Travel accounts for an average of roughly 75% of Professional Services Engineers’ time.

Role Responsibility:

  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service at all times.
  • Provide onsite services to customers with IP video/Access Control systems.
  • Travel to customer sites as necessary to perform acceptance testing, installation assistance and project specific integrations.
  • Support other departments in need of professional services such as Engineering, Sales staff and Development.
  • Install, upgrade, and support AMAG video/access control systems hardware, software and networks and server problem identification and resolution. 
  • Maintenance of hardware and software systems and associated servers, hubs, switches, routers, etc.
  • Maintenance of software systems including Windows Server 2008, SQL 2008, VMware, NEC ExpressCluster and Terminal services
  • Continuously work to improve the quality of Professional Services.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must possess an Exceptional Customer Service attitude.
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, specialized computer systems training, or work equivalent.
  • Must possess a minimum of three years of field service of IT systems or database systems and demonstrate excellent comprehension of large scale security systems.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills and the ability to execute with a sense of urgency required.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and information security disciplines is required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Server operating systems, MS SQL Server, VMware VSphere, Microsoft Cluster, NEC ExpressCluster redundancy and associated installation, configuration, and support is desirable.
  • Expertise in configuring, installing, upgrading and trouble shooting PCs in a LAN environment, or between multiple local area networks in a WAN environment required.
  • Experience in dealing with PC hardware, software manufacturers and the ability to plan and direct the growth and expansion of PC networks and to train new users concerning LAN/WAN networks.
  • Programming skills and familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET and SQL scripting is desirable, but not required.
