The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a experienced Site Supervisor with a background in security. In this position, you will be responsible for the physical security of the client's facilities and its surrounding grounds. This Security Site Supervisor plans, organizes, directs, and controls the operational and administrative activities of the contract on a day to day basis as well as proposing and implementing proactive measures to improve performance. In addition, you will be directly accountable for the success, performance, compliance, and public perception of the program. This position will act as G4S liaison with the client, law enforcement agencies, customers, and employees. You will also perform general security duties in the protection of persons and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations of the client.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Oversee that all aspects of the security function on-site is performed in a diligent manner (staffing, scheduling, and on-site training all G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc. personnel assigned to his/her site)
  • Ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met
  • Maintain overtime to a preset requirement designated by G4S
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel assigned to his/her site
  • Perform other operations related functions (e.g., payroll, review and maintain incident reports, issue uniforms, coordinate fleet vehicles, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders)
  • Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision
  • Respond to client requests
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, including communication with all in both the languages of English and Spanish, as appropriate
  • Deter criminal activity and misconduct, investigate suspicious situations, conduct patrol tours
  • Communicate by use of Secure Trax , 2-way radios, telephones and computers
  • Maintain required certifications, licensing and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position
  • Complete required shift logs and reports; compliance with site post orders, G4S and client policies and procedures
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by the State of California
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum one (1) year of verifiable, supervisory/management experience
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Service in the active duty military, military reserves or National Guard within the last five (5) years
    • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets
    • Minimum of two (2) years verifiable and successful security experience

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
  • Upon acceptance of a job offer, must be able to pass the following:
    • Physical Exam
    • First Aid / CPR certification
    • O.C. / Pepper Spray certification
    • Permanent Expandable Baton certification
    • MMPI 2 Psychological testing
    • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Firearms Permit issued by the State of California if assigned to an armed position
    • Must obtain a California Operator's Driver's License or California I. D.

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observingng; telephone use; driving; standing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling, light lifting
