Job Introduction:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for working with Security Engineering Consultants, Architects and Engineers, large or strategically important end-users (existing & prospective) in or around the Greater Los Angeles area.  They will be accountable for identifying, creating, capturing and managing business opportunities through these channels, from commencement to project award and beyond, for AMAG Technology.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and executing a successful business development plan with security consultants and select end-users.  This includes identifying key security specifiers and end-user prospects, educating security specifiers, and end-users on AMAG Technology’s products, developing a long-term business relationship with security specifiers and end-users and managing revenue opportunities from initial design through the bid process.  Also responsible for identifying, qualifying and capturing large or strategically important end-user opportunities, managing and acquiring follow-on business from existing customers, and successfully responding to Request for Information / Request for Proposals.

Duties:

The Business Development Manager will be expected to respond to consultant, end-user or customer requests for information in a timely manner.  Such requests include, but may not be limited to, system design support, product feature and capability descriptions, price quotations, and review/response to system requirement specifications / RFIs / RFPs.  Utilizing the Regional Sales Managers, Application Engineers and other in-house resources, the Business Development Manager must drive revenue while maintaining Exceptional Customer Service both internally and externally.  Other Duties include:

  • Be a role model for the company culture.
  • Security Consultant Lunch & Learns.
  • Drive the development of revenue generating project specifications.
  • Work closely with the Director of Business Development and team to develop, establish, and manage consultant and end user activity.
  • Track activities, leads and opportunities within Salesforce to drive revenue and appropriately forecast projects with the sales team.
  • Maintain key relationships with consultants, end-users and customers & develop / implement strategies for capturing new revenue.
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop and execute marketing initiatives.

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years sales experience in the security marketplace.
  • Established contacts & relationships with consultants, potential customers & resellers.
  • Outstanding solution selling abilities & excellent interpersonal skills with “C” suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to create a results-driven environment.
  • Experience with a specific sales methodology, sales funnel management.

Other Requirements:

The Business Development Manager will be expected to travel nationally.  Such travel will have varying frequency depending on special projects, but is expected to be about 50-70%.  Other travel includes participation at industry trade shows 2-3 times each year (in varying locations), and occasional travel outside of the assigned territory.

The Business Development Manager will be expected to present themselves in a professional manner as representatives of AMAG Technology. This includes strong written and verbal communication skills.

A college degree is required and at least 8 years of experience in a technical sales role in the security industry.
